Endicott Arm, Dawes Glacier

Along with the Sawyer Glaciers in the northern arm of Tracy Arms there is another magnificent journey in the southern route known as Endicott Arm. If you're cruise is to visit this option of the Tracy Arms you will be seeing one of Alaska's often overlooked treasures. Dawes Glacier is located at the end of Endicott Arm in southeast Alaska.

Depending upon the amount of floating ice in Tracy Arm, a number of cruises visit Endicott Arm every summer. As this is part of the Tracy Arms it often is just listed as such in the brochures. Where you know the itinerary is definitely looking to take the southern route is when you see Dawes Glacier listed rather than the Twin Sawyer Glaciers.

 

Also many of the smaller and faster day tour boats traveling out of Juneau choose to visit Endicott Arm over the northern route to avoid the larger number of vessels typically seen there.
